We’ve done our best to make getting started in aviation as simple as possible by breaking it down into four easy steps: choosing a flight school, choosing a pilot’s license, your first steps of flight training, and what comes next for new pilots. Take a look:
It’s a simple who, what, where, when, and why: You already know why you want to fly, and we both know when you want to begin (right now!), so the first step involves determining who you want to train with, what airplane you want to fly, and where you want to train.
After you’ve chosen your desired flight school, it’s important to take a look at what you plan to do with your pilot license once you get it. For most people, the Private Pilot Certificate (the standard “pilot license”) is the way to go. But you should know there’s also a Sport Pilot License available as well, and it might be a better fit. Check out the differences here:
So you know where you’re training and you know what you’re training for. You’re almost there! There’s just one more question that might be stumping you: what should I do first?
Now for the fun part. Get excited about flying! Learn about all the possibilities ahead of you!
